HERMETIC
THE MUSIC OF HERMETO PASCOAL
About the Group
TRIAD+ brings together four leading voices in contemporary Latin jazz: internationally acclaimed pianist Maxim Lubarsky, six-time Grammy Award–winning bassist Oscar Stagnaro, multi-Grammy Award–winning drummer Mark Walker, and rising saxophonist and composer Edmar Colón. All four are members of the faculty at Berklee College of Music and have performed with some of the most influential artists in jazz and Latin music worldwide.
Rooted in deep musical dialogue and a shared artistic vision, TRIAD+ blends virtuosity, spontaneity, and a profound connection to Latin American musical traditions.
About the Project — HERMETIC
HERMETIC is TRIAD+’s tribute to the legendary Brazilian composer Hermeto Pascoal — a singular and visionary artist whose music transcends genre and convention.
Recorded live at GBH’s Fraser Performance Studio, the project captures the quartet’s personal approach to Pascoal’s music. Rather than recreating the originals, TRIAD+ reimagines these compositions through their own voice, embracing the spirit of exploration, rhythmic vitality, and boundless creativity that defines Hermeto’s work.
The album also includes original compositions by Mark Walker and Edmar Colón, inspired by Hermeto’s musical universe and reflecting his influence in new and unexpected ways.
“The energy of this live recording is impressive. It’s easy to feel how the depth and intensity of the grooves fuel each player. The way the audience reacts to the performance leaves no doubt about that.
More than just excellent musicians, what is remarkable in this album is the ability of this ensemble to play together, listening to each other and propelling the spirals of sound vibrations to inspiring heights of energy and emotion.”
-Jovino Santos Neto (core member, pianist and producer of Hermerto Pascoal Group)
